Pastoral Support

Our heart’s desire at the King’s Community Church is for people to live lives of wholeness, but it is of course true that from time to time all of us need help and support from others. We are encouraged to go to Jesus Christ, the “Wonderful Counsellor” as our first port of call, but we at KCC also have the privilege to provide support and help when required.

“Help others who have all kinds of troubles.” 2 Cor. 1:4

Expressions of community and Pastoral Support at KCC is available in a variety of ways. The main support and developmental structure is through Connect Groups where group leaders are able and available to listen, support and encourage on a one-to-one basis or to enlist the help of the group to offer support.  Beyond this, as a resource to those who call the King’s Community Church home, we also have a Pastoral Support Team who are available to help you.

What does Pastoral Support at KCC look like?

The Pastoral Support Team provides a confidential listening and support ministry. We have a committed and experienced team of Christians willing to give time to be with you, listen to you and pray with and for you.

Someone to listen and talk to

Are you feeling worried, confused, hurt or concerned about someone or something in your life? Please don’t carry your burden alone. Arrange to meet with a member of our Pastoral Support Team and talk with them.

Someone to pray and intercede

Never hesitate to ask for prayer! God is interested in every area of our lives and we are encouraged to always take our cares to God. A Pastoral Support Team member will be happy to pray with you.

You can make your request by phoning 01224 651002, by completing and placing one of our Prayer Request cards into the prayer request box located in the foyer, or by completing an online request on our homepage. This will ensure our team of prayer intercessors will stand with you through the issues and concerns in your life.

Someone to visit and support

Members of the team are available to come and visit with you in your home or in hospital, especially if you are elderly, frail, unwell or no longer able to get to a Connect Group or our church services. Please let your connect group leaders or the church office know of your circumstances and someone will arrange a convenient time to visit.

Someone to counsel and advise

It is good to get support and prayer from a willing and experienced listener. However sometimes we may need help of a more specialist nature. The Pastoral Support Team has specialist counsellors who are available to help you, or if this is not appropriate to refer you to specialist agencies outside the King’s Community Church.

How can you contact a Pastoral Support Team member?

Contact our Pastoral Support Team Leader and a Pastoral Support Team member will be in touch with you as soon as possible.
