How do I get to church?
The King’s Community Church is situated in Aberdeen city centre on the corner of King Street and Urquhart Road, within a large traditional church building. On Sundays, enter through the large front doors on the front steps. If you require assistance, or access to the stair lift, please ring the bell at our side door on Urquhart Road.
Parking – located in the heart of Aberdeen city centre, there are a number of different places to park within just a 0.5 mile radius from the church. For more information on where exactly you can park close by, please click here.
What are Sunday services like?
Our services, which typically last 90 minutes each in the morning, and 60 minutes in the evening, are times of community, celebration and learning. Each one centres around the presentation of God’s Word, with Pastor Iain or one of our preaching team sharing the life-changing message of the Bible in a clear, practical and relevant way. Our worship has elements of music and media to communicate and inspire.
Throughout the service, you are welcome to join in or sit back and observe – however you feel most comfortable. The dress is casual and varied so come as you are. There is always an opportunity for individuals to pray with the Pastor or another church leader after each service.
Are facilities available for children?
Definitely! We have a mother & baby room and parent-supervised creche for 0-1 year old children in the rooms just off the main foyer. Both of these rooms have video links to the main sanctuary, allowing parents to view any service. For pre-school children there is a volunteer-staffed creche in the coffee lounge, whilst for P1– P7 youngsters there is a Kids’ Church program in the basement level of the church. You will be directed during the service when the kids are able to leave the service. All our volunteers for creche and Kids Church are police-checked and have been appointed through an application and disclosure system.
What happens on other days?
At the King’s Community Church, we desire to do much more than just have a few meetings a week with a crowd of spectators watching on. Real ‘Church’ is made up of real people doing real things together and helping each other in real ways – and there are a lot of ways to get connected at KCC. Whether you are married or single, young or old, we offer an opportunity for you to have real relationships with people who will make a real difference in your life. Why not check out our Upcoming Events page for a list of what’s going on in church this week.
Can I Meet the Pastors & the Senior Leadership Team?
Absolutely. Our Pastors, Leadership Team and Staff would love to get to know you better, and we’ve designed the following event with you, our guest, in mind. It’s our Newcomers’ Welcome Lunch and if you have filled in a welcome card then you will automatically receive an invite to the next one. If you have not filled in a card then contact the church office and they will ensure you are informed of the date of the next one.
The Newcomers’ Welcome is a great way to learn about the mission and purpose of KCC. This relaxed lunch is held every second month after the second Sunday morning service and is a wonderful opportunity to hear from our Pastors and meet some of our team. It’s free for you and your family. Upcoming dates for the Newcomers’ Welcome can be found in the weekly announcement sheet or on the website. To register or for more information contact the church office. Newcomers’ Welcome Lunches are held in the Coffee Lounge, in the middle level of church.
So What Now?
We would encourage everyone in church to join a weekly Connect Group. It’s a great way to meet new people and spend time with them one evening a week. To find out more information, you can visit our Connect Group page, or speak to Andy & Rachael West to find out about a group near you. We would also encourage you to visit our Volunteer page and our Giving page – these pages explain more about how to get connected in the church.
